More information : [SK 30035715] Chapel [G.T.] (1) St. Mary's or Cromford Bridge Chapel, of late fourteenth or early fifteenth century date, was excavated and restored in 1951-2 by the Derbyshire Arch. Soc., who own the freehold. [See plan etc: AO/LP/62/43]. (2) The chapel is still in ruins. Restoration work in 1951-2 (Authy. 2) was confined to the removal of modern building material and debris from the western end, previously incorporated into an outhouse, and to effecting some repair at this end to the external walls which now stand to a height of 4 m. The excavation carried out during the same period has exposed the foundations of the remainder of the chapel. See GP AO.62/85/8 for the remains of the chapel. (3) No change.
