Summary : Mound - not an antiquity. Probably built to support a summerhouse.
More information : [SK 65360587] The mounts [T.I.] (1) THE MOUNT [G.T.] (2) Ancient Earthwork, Class D. Small truncated, conical mounts, with depressed top. (3) This mound contains an ornamental chamber of obviously recent date and the two are probably contemporary (4) "At the extremity of the pleasure grounds, a mound of earth is raised, done at the expense of the late Mr. Wigley. [d.1765] ... On the top ... is placed a kind of lanthorn or summer-house". (5)
