All Saints' Church, Barrowby, is Early English to Perpendicular. (2)
The church is in normal use. At SK 87863648, on the east side of the south porch and resting on a concreted area, is the socket stone of a churchyard cross. (SK 8786/3648). See G.P. A.O./65/37/4 and SK 83 NE 5 for 1/2500 survey. (3)
Church of All Saints Mainly C14th and C15th church with W tower spire in ashlar. Particularly good 14C font, with pierced traceried pedestal enclosing a grotesque figure. C15th brass of a member of the Deenes family. C13th chancel. C14th S aisle. C13th N aisle. (4)
Part of a 10th-11th century limestone grave cover is incorporated in the chancel south wall. (5) |
