The so-called Torksey Castle was in fact an unfortified
domestic mansion, known formerly as Torksey House or Torksey Hall.
Enough of the building remains [see AO:61:208: 2&3] to show
that it was an Elizabethan mansion. (2)

Torksey Castle. Country house, now a ruin. Built in 1560. It was
slighted during the Civil War. Grade 1. (5)
