More information : (SK 94894645) A stone milestone of `obelisk' type, 3m high, stands
next to the main Grantham-Lincoln road at Normanton. It was also the
village pump, having a trough in front of it. The stone inscription
reads `From Lincoln 18 miles, from Grantham 7 miles, from London 117
miles'. The type of lettering suggest the milestone may be of late
18th century date. (1)
