More information : (SP 8250 0599) Dial Hill (NAT) (1) A mound, probably a tumulus, west of Great Kimble Church. In good condition, it is 85ft in diameter at the base, and is 8ft high. (2) Opened prior to 1889 when pottery considered to be Romano-British, was found. (3) A large round barrow, possibly of Ro date, at SP 82500599, measures 20.0m in diameter and is 3.0m in height. There are no traces of a ditch. There is a deep central excavation crater and an old spoil heap against the SW side; under pasture and small bushes. Resurveyed at 1:2500. (4)
