Grid Ref : SS7353033110
Summary : A leat which supplied the Bampfylde mining complex.
More information : A leat, formerly supplying the Bampfylde copper mining complex, runs from SS 7353 3311 to SS 7380 3283 along the western side of the Mole valley. It is never more than 1.8m in width, and has been cut through in places by a modern track, a quarry and trial workings associated with the mine. At its southern end it abruptly stops below a wheel pit and attendant structures. The feature has either been truncated at this point and formerly continued further south, or the water was carried on launder across the valley to the eastern workings. (1)
