Summary : Two round barrows, forming part of a barrow cemetery on Winsford Hill. One measures 8.5 metres in diameter and stands 0.5 metres high, the second barrow lies a short distance to the north west and measures 4 metres in diameter and 0.4 metres high. Both barrows are overlain by part of an extensive field system (SS 83 NE 49) formed by a series of low banks and ridge and furrow, believed to be of late medieval to early post medieval date.

This is a truncated bowl barrow 0.6m high situated at SS 87843420. (see GPs AO/65/184/3 & 4). (2)

SS 878341 (see location plan). Two low heather covered barrows approximately 12 yds diameter by 1 yd high. Scheduled. (Only one barrow at this location listed by Grinsell-Authy3). (5)

At SS 8784 3420 is a heather, grass and moss covered circular, earthen mound, presumably a barrow, 8.5 m in diameter and 0.5 m high. A rectangular depression measuring 2.6 x 2.9 m and 0.3 m deep has been dug into its summit. Some 12 m north-west of this feature is a second earthen mound measuring 4 m in diameter and 0.4 m high.
