Summary : Combined wind and water mill, built in 1821. Now famous for using four sources of power, wind, water, steam and electricity. Gault brick with flat concrete roof. Brick waterwheel house with single pitch corrugated metal roof. Battered circular tower with waterwheel house attached to west side. 6 storey tower with a rebuilt timber gallery at third floor level. The wind machinery was removed in 1940 and restoration was underway in the late 1990s. |
More information : (TF 8699 0021) Windmill (NAT) (1) Mill (NAT) (disused) (NAT) (2) Little Cressingham Mill, is a tall wind and water towermill set across the stream, its cap and sails are missing. (3,4) Little Cressingham Mill is late 18th/early 19th century and now disused and derelict but is shortly to be restored by Norfolk Friends of the Windmill Society. It is famous for having four power sources, ie. wind, water, steam and electricity. (5)
