Summary : A late Bronze Age socketed axe was found in 1976 at Ebshill Lodge and shown to Somerset Museum.
More information : SS 91254540. A late Bronze Age socketed axe found by Adrian
Partridge at Ebshill Lodge was shown to Somerset County Museum in
1976. It is of the slender, facetted variety with a single moulding
around the socket and measures 11.5cms long by 4.9cms across the
blade. Facetted socketed axes can be dated to the developed period ofthe Late Bronze Age 7th - 6th centuries BC, from their association
with other bronze work. (1)
