Summary : Augustinian priory founded circa 1163 and dissolved in 1537. The parish church is the only surviving elements to the priory, the rest of the site is occupied by a Georgian house.

Augustinian priory in Royston; founded c1163 dissolved 1537. The 'Priory', an enlarged Georgian house is probably built on part of the site of the domestic quarters of the monastery. The Parish Church is the only remaining part of the monastic establishment having been purchased by the parishioners in 1538. The house known as the Priory is as described by authy. 3.
