More information : Roman coins have been found in Sunken Church Field
on Abington Park Farm and the name is suggestive of a building
site. (1)

The owner pointed out the field at TL 514462 and stated he has
never found any evidence of building there. (2)

TL 514464. Crop and soil marks of enclosure visible on AP.

TL 513463. Cropmarks of enclosures and ring ditches. (3)

Field perambulation produced a large quality of Romano-British
pottery, including one piece of Samian and a few fragments of
tile.

The area of crop and soil marks seen on the AP is on high
ground under plough. No features could be seen. A fragment of
dark coarse pottery was found at TL 51324620.
