Summary : Small motte, probably later utilized as a mill mound
More information : Situated at TM 39309520 are the remains of a small Norman motte slightly mutilated on the SE side by the modern road. Of quite defensive construction this motte is similar to others encountered during investigation. A rectangular depression on top of the island may indicate the site of a mill which gave the site its' name "Mill Mount" (OS 25" 1906). See 25" survey. (1)
