Summary : Remains of iron foundry built in 1848 by William West, a mining engineer. Two ranges at right angles forming the north and east sites of a yard. Built of stone rubble, the north range rendered, with slate roofs with gable ends. The end wall of the east building is apsidal. |
More information : (SX 07005455) Iron Foundry (NAT) (1) St Blazey Foundry, built by William West in 1848. The works consist of two stone rubble ranges at right angles forming the north and east sides of a square. The original wooden gates are still intact. It was involved in the manufacture of mining, smelting, waterworks and railway machinery. (2-3)
