More information : (SX 31406104) Hill Fort (NR) (see illustration) (1) Small hillfort, the interior of which is about 80 yards in diameter. The inner bank still survives, unploughed, to a height of 10 ft externally, 2-3 ft internally. The bank is approximately 30 ft wide, surrounded by a 60 ft wide belt of flat ground 3 ft higher than the surrounding sloping land. This is presumably the remains of outer earthworks, now ploughed, which can be seen on an aerial photograph. The interior of the hillfort is also ploughed. (2) The camp on Padderbury Top has entrances on the east and west sides. (3)
