Summary : A badly damaged cairn composed of small boulders and stones is 7.2 metres in diameter and 0.6 metres high (on the downhill side). There is a ragged central depression 0.6 metres deep and some small edge-set stones around the periphery. Scheduled.

A ruined barrow with cairn circle. (2)

A cairn, situated on a SW-facing slope of 350 m OD. It consists
of an amorphous mound of stones containing a number of larger
boulders which form no coherent pattern. Its diameter is 7.5m
and its height 0.5m. There is no trace of the retaining circle
mentioned above.

Surveyed at 1:10 000 on PFD. (3)

SX59256718. A badly damaged cairn composed of stones and small boulders is 7.2m in diameter and a maximum 0.6m high on the downhill side. A large ragged central depression is 0.6m deep with spoil piled on the mound and the NW side. Some small edge-set stones are visible around the periphery. (4)


Depicted and described as the possible remains of a hut circle by Robertson (5) and as a cairn by Butler (6) and Gerrard (SMR No SX 56 NE 74).
