More information : (SD 74160103) Worsley Old Hall (NR). (1) Worsley Old Hall is a low two storied building partly of wood and plaster and partly of brick but much altered. Originally built round three sides of a quadrangle the fourth facing N being open. It would not appear to be older than 17th century. The hall is said to have been moated but no signs of the moat now remain. After 1855 a new west wing was added, and further alterations took place in 1891 and 1906. (2) Worsley Old Hall is in the main of black and white construction with various modern outbuildings at the rear. There is a date 1639 in one of the upstairs rooms. Not outstanding. Now National Coal Board area offices. No traces of a moat. (3) No change from report of 20.6.52. (4) Worsley Old Hall. Portion contains original 17th century construction. Grade 2. (5)
