More information : These 3 probable cairns lie on a gentle, well drained south east facing slope at 330m above OD. A. SX 68207117, is turf covered 2.7m diameter and 0.3m high, and is constructed of small boulders. B. SX 68207116: 2.8m diameter and 0.6m high. C. SX 68197116: 2.4m diameter and 0.3m high and partly turf covered.
Cairns (B) and (C) are linked by a slight scarp 0.2m high and the vague trace of a bank runs north west from (B). Whilst it is possibly that these mounds are the result of field clearance, their character seems too deliberate and the nearby walls of the parallel reave system (SX 67 SE 92), within which they lie, would provide readier dumping grounds for surface stone. Survey at 1:10 000 on PFD 1:200 Enlargement Survey on OS 495. (1)
SX68207110. A cluster of six small medieval or later clearance cairns within a contemporary field system immediately W of venford reservoir. There is no ground evidence to suggest that these are prehistoric features. A more dispersed collection of similar cairns (SX 67 SE 246) lies to the N. (2)
