Summary : Site of Bolton Hall, extant by 1464 though much altered and extended later. Rebuilt in 1806, though the rear wing retained a datestone marked 1550. Since demolished.

Bolton Hall was probably built not later than the reign of Edward III. (2)

Henry VI sheltered here after the battle of Hexham in 1464.

It is doubtful whether anything of the time of Henry VI survives at Bolton Hall, but the date 1550 is visible at the rear. The bulk of the house is Victorian and in decay. (3)

Bolton Hall has been demolished. (4)
