Henry VI sheltered here after the battle of Hexham in 1464. It is doubtful whether anything of the time of Henry VI survives at Bolton Hall, but the date 1550 is visible at the rear. The bulk of the house is Victorian and in decay. (3) Bolton Hall has been demolished. (4)
