Lawland Hall is a good example of a 16/17th century house built on the mediaeval plan. Grade I. (2)
Lawland Hall, at SD 77656592 is a large, well maintained private residence, typical of its period. See G.Ps AO/64/151/6 & 7 for Northern and Western aspects. (3)
Barn to south west of hall at SD 774658, 18th century with later additions. Grade 2. (4)
Large house. Late C16 west wing for Yorke family, with late C17 hall and east wing and east service range, mid C18 alterations, restored 1912-1914 by J N Ambler. Squared rubble, stone dressings, stone slate roof. Double ended hall plan. 2 storeys, 3 bays hall, left-hand projecting 2 storeys, 1 bay gabled service wing and right-hand projecting 3 storeys 1 bay gabled wing. (5)
A tower has been noted within Lawkland Hall. Fortified Mediaeval house? (6)
