More information : [SX 9353 9245] Livery Dole Almshouses (Founded AD 1591) (NAT) (1) "Liverdole. Almshouses with small chapel (c.1420-30), east side of Exeter, towards Heavitree." (2) Livery Dole Almshouses comprise of two two-storey blocks of white limestone rubble, of circa 1846, joined by a blocked archway with a commermorative tablet of the original foundation by Sir Robert and SirThomas Dennis in 1591-4. The small 15th (4) or 16th century (3) chapel of Saint Clare is of Heavitree stone with a slate roof. (3,4)
