More information : 'In 1773, two copper (bronze?) fibulae were found above Holme, near Burnley. No account of there shape or dimensions has been preserved, but they were said to be beautifully enamelled.' (1) '...which were turned up in getting stones for the turnpike road above Holme.' (2-3)
