More information : At SW 4267 3499, 60m to the north east of the Men-an-tol, a mound 0.7m high overgrown with bracken and furze was discovered in field investigation. The centre has been robbed and mutilated. The top edge of a buried stone 0.9m long, and orientated NE-SW, is visible. This is almost certainly a bowl barrow and the stone may be part of a cist. A 25 inch survey has been made. (1) SW 42633500. Listed under 'Barrows' but desribed simply as a mound. (2) The mound, 11.0m by 14.0m is grass and bracken covered and has the appearance of a cairn but should be treated with some reserve. Save for the 'cist' stone, which is granite, the construction seems to be of spar stone. (3)
