Summary : A World War II pillbox located on the west bank of the River Adur at RAF Shoreham. The pillbox was constructed in 1940-41, built of brick and reinforced concrete and formed part of the airfield defences. It is brick-shuttered and has an anti-aircraft section to one side. A field visit in 1997 found the pillbox to be extant.This pillbox was mapped from historical aerial photograhs. |

The structural remains of this pillbox were seen at TQ 2076 0535 and were mapped as part of the English Heritage: South Downs NMP project from historical aerial photographs. (2) |
