Barden Tower, a scheduled ancient monument, was built in the time of Henry VIII and restored in 1658-9. It is now in ruins. (2-3)
Barden Tower situated at SE 05085719 is a secular building typical of its period. Its ruins are well preserved and are three floors high. An inscription confirms the restoration of 1658-9. There are no associated earthworks. Open to the public. See G.P. AO/64/102/4.
Barden Tower Chapel, at SE 05115717 (now called Barden Church (a)), is a 17c. group of buildings incorporating domestic premises and a chapel, the latter being still used occasionally for public worship. See G.P. AO/64/102/3 (4)
