Summary : Hoard of probable pre-Flavian Roman bronze cavalry horse harness found at Fremington Hagg before 1833. Probable loot rather than indication of military activity.
More information : A hoard of probable pre-Flavian Roman bronze cavalry horse harness (1) was found on Fremington Hagg, near Reeth (a), before 1833 (b). Fremington Hagg is possibly the limestone scar now known as Fremington Edge (SE 0499). Part of the hoard is now in the British Museum, the rest is in the Yorkshire Museum. (1)

The hoard is pre-Flavian according to Hartley, and hence more likely loot than indicative of military occupation. (2)
