More information : The remains of a field system of celtic type lie, centred at SO 33159440, descending a broad valley below Heath Mynd. Five lynchets cross the valley at about 100.0m. intervals; they increase in height downhill, from 1.5m. to 2.0m. and in length range from 250.0m. to 320.0m. They terminate against valley side lynchets on the north-west and south-east, the latter rising to a maximum 2.5m. in height. There are trces of cross banks, 75.0m. and 160.0m. below the side lynchet on the south-east facing slopes of the valley, which are 230.0m. in length. The field system on this side of the valley lies in arable land and has been reduced by the plough, but on the north-west-facing slopes it is well-preserved under heather and bracken. (1)
The five lynchets described by the previous authorities were seen as earthworks and mapped from aerial photographs during the Marches Uplands Mapping Project. No further information was added. (2)
