Summary : Medieval or Post Medieval wood banks, defining the edges of former areas of woodland on Deangate Ridge, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and have been mapped as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project. The southern parts of Sixteen Acre Wood and the north and west sides of Six Acre Wood survived as slight banks within Lodge Hill Armaments Depot (Monument 1077634) after the trees were removed to make way for the depot. The woods were shown on Ordnance Survey maps until 1909.
