Padside Hall

Summary : Stone-built house of the late 16th/early 17th century, altered in the 19th century and restored in the 20th century. Hall and cross-wing plan, though the west wing is now ruinous. Documentary evidence indicates that a tower formerly adjoined the north east corner of the house, but this was demolished in 1893. Used as a farmhouse after 1891.

Padside Hall, of late medieval appearance, was altered in 1893 when a square tower was demolished. (2)

The Hall is now derelict and in poor condition. It is mainly of late 16thc/17thc. construction, and is of no architectural merit.

Padside Hall, 15th century, formerly had a square Peel type tower now converted into a barn. The hall, unoccupied for many years, is now having some repairs made to it. Grade 2. (4)

There is a 17th century two storey stone cottage with an end
chimney nearby. (5-6)
