Summary : Church built 1837-49 by Lancaster architect Edmund Sharpe. It is in a Gothic Revival style, with a tall three stage tower, with lancets in the lower stages and two twin light louvred windows in the top stage. There is a three bay nave with lean-to aisles and simple buttresses. The transepts and choir have three very tall grouped windows. Interior has a flat ceiling and slim compound piers.
