The brick building was constructed in 1926 and was extended in 1938 to provide 3 dining areas for up to 192 airmen. An English Heritage report produced in May 2003 recommended the that the building be considered suitable for potential future listed status. |
More information : An English Heritage report noted the potential suitability of the cookhouse and dining room for possible future status as a Grade II Listed Building. The building built in 1926 was "sited at the south east corner of the parade ground and extended in 1938 so that the cookhouse could serve 3 dining area for 192 airmen". (1)
