Summary : A pot containing 172 Roman silver coins of various reigns, was found when digging the foundations of a house at Boston Spa in 1848. The vessel is now in York Museum. The coins ranged in date from the Republic, 211 BC, to Hadrian, AD 119-22.
More information : A pot containing 172 Ro. silver coins of various reigns, a Hadrianic hoard (2) was found when digging the foundations of a house at Boston Spa in 1848. The vessel is now in York Museum. (1-2)

An exact siting was not established. York Museum records this find as being "one mile from Rudgate and 50 ft. from the main road". This gives an approximate siting to the area SE 438 451. (3)
