Summary : Medieval moat, of which only part remains visible, the rest has been destroyed by ploughing and modern farm building construction. The feature is visible as an earthwork on air photographs.
More information : [SE 5832 1923] Moat [G.T.]. (1) Resurveyed at 1/2500. Only the west and part of the east sides of this moat survives. The remainder has been destroyed by ploughing and modern farm building. (2) SE 584193. Balne. Listed as medieval moat of unclassified type near Yewtree Farm. (3) A medieval moat is visible as an earthwork on air photographs at SE 5853 1924. The north, east and west sides of the moat are visible and it measures 29m by 61m. (4)
