Summary : A 15th century gatehouse with later alterations, including those to the roof structure, and restorations, including those of the late 20th century. The gatehouse is timber-framed with rendered infill, rubble and hammer-dressed magnesian limestone plinth and a pantile roof with the lower three courses of stone slates. It is of two storeys and three bays including a central carriage arch. The first floor is jettied to the end and sides with carved dragon posts with brattishing and carved grotesques The gable end is also jettied. |

(2) A timber framed lychgate of typical 15th.C. construction, embodying a combination of passage way (now blocked) and church building. The whole is in a poor state of preservation. See G.P. A similar type of lychgate at Hartfield in Sussex, is illustrated by Vallance in "Old Crosses & Lychgates"(a) (3) Bolton Percy Gatehouse, formerly known as The Tithe Barn is a 16th century timber-framed building with rendered infill.
