Summary : Girls' Social Club designed by James Lomax Simpson for William Hesketh Lever in 1913 and altered in 1925. Now a residents' club and two houses, the building is constructed from roughcast with stone dressings, some brick and timber-framing, and tile roofs. Facing the street corner, the Residents' Club is of two storeys with attic in three bays whilst the houses are of two storeys in three bays. |
More information : Girls' Social Club designed by James Lomax Simpson for William Hesketh Lever in 1913 and altered in 1925. It has two storeys and is constructed of brick, timber, stone and roughcast with tiled roofs. The hall occupies a corner block opposite the Lady Lever Art Gallery. Its facade incorporates two massive canted bay windows. It is now a Residents' Club, and two houses. (1-2) |
