Summary : Bolsover Model Village was built by the Bolsover Colliery Company to accommodate its workforce. In 1890 the Bolsover Colliery Company Ltd sank Bolsover Colliery and in 1891 work started on the construction of the village at New Bolsover in the fields below the Castle.
More information : (SK 466704) New Bolsover (NAT). (1) New Bolsover is a model village built in 1888-93 by the Bolsover and Creswell Colliery Co. Enlightened planning, with houses arranged around three sides of a square green. (2) The village was designed by Brewill and Bailey. The houses are listed in batches. Grade II. (3)
