More information : Two Roman coins, of Lucius Verus (161-69 AD) and Faustine II (d. 175 AD) the handle of a large amphora and a fragment of Samian ware were found at St Stephen's Churchyard, South Shields. (Probably associated with the Roman vicus - NZ 36 NE 41). (1) The finds were made in St Stephen's Churchyard at NZ 362 678, but their present whereabouts is unknown. (2)
