Remains of pleasure ground and landscape park c. 100ha. Designed by Stephen Switzer, 1724-45, he was also responsible for the formal gardens which were destroyed in c.1776. Other additions and alterations subsequently took place and include those by Sir Jeffry Wyatville in 1819-22. The wooded park and pond was added in c. 1830. Switzer also responsible for the cascades.
