Summary : Group of 6 Bronze Age round barrows situated towards the eastern edge of Langdale Forest. A number of these were excavated by Lamplough and Lidster in 1952. All six barrows have been individually scheduled and lie in an area rich in Prehistoric monuments.

The area is now afforested, and the location of of these tumuli could not be established. (2)

Bronze Age round barrow (SM 34525) 280 metres south west of High Langdale End and one of a group of 6 barrows. The mound is 1 metre high and 15 metres in diameter and has been reduced by forestry ploughing. It is situated in a prominent position towards the eastern edge of Langdale Forest. The mound has a hollow in the centre caused by past excavation. (4)

Bronze Age round barrow (SM 34524) 330 metres south west of High Langdale End. The mound is 1.2 metres high and 16 metres in diameter which has been reduced by forestry ploughing. There is a hollow in the centre caused by partial excavation.(5)

Bronze Age round barrow (SM 34523) 610 metres south west of High Langdale End. The mound stands up to 1.2 metres high and 18 metres in diameter. There is a hollow in the centre caused by partial excavation.(6)

Bronze Age round barrow (SM 34521) 430 metres south south west of High Langdale End. The mound is 1 metre high and 12 metres in diameter and has been reduced by ploughing. In the centre is a hollow caused by past excavation.(7)
