Summary : Excavations by the CEU in 1992-3 uncovered the remains of the parade ground of Stanwix fort. It is located immediately to the east of the fort and consisted of a dump of clay, 0.6m deep, covering the earlier ground surface and sealing plough marks and a military ditch. The parade ground had a cobble surface. |
