Summary : Neasden was opened by the Metropolitan Railway on 2nd August 1880 and rebuilt in the 1930s by the same company. It was originally named Kingsbury and Neasden before being renamed Neasden and Kingsbury in 1910. It was eventually named Neasden in 1932. The station became part of the Bakerloo line in 1939, when the London Passenger Transport Board opened a new section of twin tube tunnels between Baker Street and Finchley Road creating a branch to Stanmore. The station stopped serving Metropolitan line trains on 20th Novermber 1939 and on 1st May 1979 it became an intermediate station on the new Jubilee line when the Jubilee took over the Bakerloo line branch from Baker Street to Stanmore.
