More information : South of the Roman fort at Moresby (NW 92 SE 4), the foundations of a building, 31 ft by 15. 5 ft were excavated in 1859 (1a). This was probably part of the vicus, the footings of which were very conspicuous when the neighbouring field was drained (1b). From the above description the approximate position of the building would have been in the area NX 982 208 in a field of permanent pasture, but nothing is visible. (1) |
