Stretch of stone-battlemented brick wall to East. Penshurst Place, the South Central Tower and Wall, the Southern Wall, the Inner Garden Wall and the Garden Wall form a group. (1)
License to crenellate, granted in 1392 (following an earlier license of 1341) lead to the construction of an enclosing outer wall with square side and angle towers. Only the South central gate tower survives complete, and a stretch of wall. (2) |
