More information : [Centred at TA 18612825 and TA 19272845] HAVEN [LB] (Site of] (Twice) (1) Hedon was a sea port of some considerable importance. The Haven is a long artificial canal constructed shortly after the Conquest. It has long been choked up. (2) The surviving features consist of an earthen bank (max.ht. 1.4m.) extending from TA 19172814 to TA 19252841, and portions of a mutilated scrap extending from TA 18582803 to TA 18632850. The remains are very derelict and are no longer recognisable as a canal system. Published survey (25") revised. (3)
