More information : [Marginal] St. Mary's Hospital, Bridlington, founded before c.1153 and dissolved c.1537, was dependent on Bridlington Priory. It is recorded temp. Alan de Monceaux. (1) The hospital of St. Mary, Bridlington "is said to have been founded by the Prior and convent of Bridlington Alan de Monceaux ... gave to the poor of this hospital land in Hertburn...; and Walter Burdun, ... gave to the use of the poor in this hospital land in Hertburn..... The hospital is again mentioned in a mandate, 15 September 1342 (b)...."
