Summary : Probable Monastic Conduit
More information : ST58687344 Pipe laying revealed the remains of a medieval conduit almost 2m high in three branches with slightly pointed vaults. A complete 13th century freestone doorway was also recorded and the remains will be preserved as far below the new carriageway as possible. The water system is traditionally attributed to the Franciscan monastery (ST 57 SE 227). (1)
