Summary : Gardens to New Hall covering an area of 14 hectares. The gardens are documented in 1522 and 1573. New gardens were laid out in 1624 and were possibly designed by John Tradescant the Elder. Following a period of neglect the gardens were remodelled by Richard Woods in 1762.
More information : Gardens at New Hall developed during the 17th century, possibly from 1624-25 when many plants were imported into the grounds. The gardens were restyled in circa 1760 by Richard Woods. Features include a 16th century walled kitchen garden and woodland. (1)
