Summary : Bronze Age round cairn and a lithic scatter. The cairn is 3m in diameter and 0.3m high, it is one of a number on the moor. The lithic scatter consists of a large number of wasters and three thumb nail scrapers.
More information : NZ 594128 Sites of Tumuli. A very stoney area apparently the sites of barrows or burials. (1) (Area centred NZ 59361274) Eight circular depressions, a heap of stones and a flint site have been exposed by gorse burning. The circular depressions average 3.0m in diameter with very slight stone walling 0.6m wide and 0.2m high. There are no entrances visible and in their present fragmentary condition it is not possible to determine their use. No surface finds. A (NZ 59311271) A small heap of stones 3.0m diameter and 0.3m high. Possible barrow. B (NZ 59371279) Flint site. Surface finds of a large number of flint wasters and three thumb scrapers. They appear to be of Bronze Age date. Sites not visible on air photographs. (2-3)
