NY 0865 4845. The last traces of the rampart had disappeared from the cliff section by 1980. The features formerly recorded are now interpreted as gravel of the road outside the back gate, grey clay of period one rampart, and peaty turf of a second period. No ditch was seen. (3)
The fragmentary remains excavated by Bellhouse in 1954 comprising the E corner only were extremely ephemeral, and it is now impossible to verify his classification as milefortlet 15. Erosion of the sandy cliff has destroyed all trace, and Bellhouse (4a) was able only to locate the approximate position on a head at NY 086 484 whilst accompanying the field investigator. (4)
In 2006, Oxford Archaeology North undertook an evaluation circa 350m south-west of the fort at Beckfoot (NY 087 486). This was in an area of coastal dunes, and sort to identifiy the remains, if any, of the cemetery and milefortlet 15. No evidence for the milefortlet was found. (5)
Located on the English Heritage map of Hadrian's Wall 2010. (6)
