Summary : Remains of World War II heavy anti aircraft battery, Paull. Only the magazines remain. It was manned by 172 Battery of the 62nd Royal Artillery Regiment in 1940, and by 266 Battery of the same Regiment in 1941. It was retained as a Nucleus Force Headquarters Battery in 1946 |

Situated north east of the village of Paull, this anti aircraft battery formed part of the air defence system of Hull. It was a concrete structure consisting of four separate emplacements and a camp site. When the site was surveyed by the Fortress Studies Group in 1992 as part of the Holderness Survey only the huts remained, some of which were in good condition. The emplacements are totally destroyed, although the magazines remain. (1)
